Prior to the construction beginning, the rusty truck was finally towed away on Monday morning. Over the past few months, Matt has been pulling the parts that he wanted to save or that he was able to save, but we'd been unable to actually get someone to take it away until Monday. Anna and I had a good time watching the tow truck driver try and wrangle a wheel-less truck up onto his flatbed ;)

Before (and in the midst of) the construction starting, we were thoroughly enjoying the heat wave that hit Wisconsin before the cold came back today. Friday afternoon Anna got to go to the splash park with her godmother and then have a slumber party with Melissa. Then we've been playing in the water just about every afternoon since. I think one of the best was when we played in the sprinkler as a family on Sunday afternoon, but goofing off in Carly's wading pool has been good, too.
Last night we had some pretty rough storms come through ... big thunderstorms, tornado warnings, the whole works. Of course they came through right around bedtime, so we camped out in the basement for awhile having popcorn and watching things unfold on TV. When things looked the worst, we all crammed into the bathroom downstairs for a half hour or so and told stories to keep the girls' minds off of things, especially since Anna has had a random fear the past year or so about our house falling down. Anyway, there were no injuries throughout Dane County, but lots and lots of downed trees and limbs. We thank God for keeping everyone safe.
Thankfully we're in a garden lull right now after the craziness of the past few weeks. After loving every meal with asparagus the past month and half and enjoying the spinach and lettuce we've harvested, we're anxiously anticipating our snow peas being ripe. Yum!
