And again when "Goliath's brother" came in for the children's message.

(The kids learned about David over the course of the week. Our pastor dressed up as David the shepherd, David the warrior, and David the king. The kids got a visit from a Goliath during the week, too. He was just as scary for the three to five year olds as his brother :)

We had another round of warm weather last week and discovered that Kate and Anna really enjoy just playing in buckets of water.

We can't wait until our pool is set up! Matt is working hard on getting the timbers dug in and the ground leveled so that we can finally set it up :)
In addition to the warmth, we've also had pretty wet weather this week. Although this kind of weather is great for our garden, it's not so good for our addition. Since we need a bit of dry weather for the foundation to be sealed and the dirt to be backfilled, we've hit our first weather delay. Oh, well.
On one of our rainy days this week we headed down to the University of Wisconsin with some friends to visit the Geology Museum and then go to the dairy school where we watched ice cream being made, and then got to taste some, too :) The girls were pretty excited to be "in a city with big buildings!"
Between some of the rain, the girls and I were able to go strawberry picking this morning. I was hesitant about taking them myself since I wasn't sure how well they would follow our rule of picking 4 berries if you're 4 or 2 berries if you're 2 before you can eat one, but they did great! We came home with a full flat (10 lbs.) that I was able to cut up and freeze this afternoon.

Kate still needs to work on her concept of ripeness.

Anna, however, was amazing. She found the best and biggest 4 strawberries to put on our flat before she'd go up and down the row looking for the best one to eat :)

In addition to strawberry picking, we headed over to our church's VBS in the park this morning. The theme is Making Fishers of Men, so the kids got to go fishing at a pond with some older guys from church, making fish crafts, play a fishing game, etc. We've got one more morning of that tomorrow and then a fish fry at church on Friday night. Fun stuff!
