Preschool begins

Today was Anna's first day of preschool. Well, it was really an orientation day. And tomorrow she goes for only about an hour. The real stuff starts next week.

For those of you who don't know, Anna will be attending pre-kindergarten at a Lutheran preschool in McFarland on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from noon until 3. This whole month will involve lots of adjustments and transitions for our little girl, but I'm sure she'll come through with smiles on her face (eventually). The hardest part will probably not having the down time in the afternoon that she usually has while Kate is sleeping. We're simply anticipating some challenging moments at home when she is overtired.

Anyway, here's some of the pictures I took during our first-day-of-school photo shoot. They're priceless :)

Here is the face of one very confident four year old.

We included Kate the best we could in this photo shoot. She would make faces at Anna to get her to smile ...

... and also run up to hug Anna every once in awhile.

Anna seemed ready to take on the world.

Anna and her friend Anika wanted to hold their backpacks by the handle as they walked to school. Silly girls.

Photo opportunity :)
