Anna's Wish Trip Adventure actually started on Sunday, May 17; that's when the "wish granters" came to our home to present Anna with her wish. Late in the afternoon they arrived with balloons, dessert, bags of gifts for everyone, and many of the details of the trip..
The kids all got beautiful, personalized towels, as well as Make-A-Wish towels,
and Anna got a cool pair of shades.
By the end of the gifting session, our living room looked a bit like Christmas morning. In fact, Matt and I joked with one another later in the day that the kids probably got more presents in that afternoon than they usually do for Christmas!
The cupcakes were delicious. Kate wanted vanilla with white frosting; Ethan liked the chocolate; Anna tasted the frosting, but also enjoyed just making silly faces.
Early in the week when we had cool but sunny weather, the kids made good use of all of the sand toys they were gifted.
I think the sand toys, bubbles, and water toys they received will get much use in our home this summer.
On Sunday after they opened their gifts, the kids all disappeared into different areas of the house to play while Matt and I went through the paperwork with the wish granters. Starting at that point, we began to realize just how much others were doing for Anna's wish, and there were still more surprises to come.
