We are back from the wish weekend and, after letting the kids sleep in a little this morning, the girls are back at school.
Overall, the trip was a huge success, even though Anna came down with a nasty cold on Thursday/Friday and her arrival at the Kalahari was delayed until Saturday. When time allows, I will post pictures and a more detailed description of the weekend. Each day deserves its own summary, mostly so we can remember the major events :)
In the meantime, we are moving on towards the next celebration ... Anna's 8th birthday! We are planning on having a big birthday celebration for Anna at our church (Lutheran Church of the Living Christ, 110 N. Gammon, Madison) on Sunday, June 28 from about 10:30 (after church) until 1:30. Food, drinks, and cake will be provided and a magician (Great Scott) will be performing at 11:30. Stop by to say hi, stay for the whole time, or come to church at 9:15 and make a day of it.
We are opening this event up to anyone and everyone who has played a role in our lives in the past year ... family, church family, community members, school friends, neighbors, therapists, nurses, prayer warriors, etc. Not only are we planning on "celebrating" Anna, but we would like to use this opportunity to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who has supported us in the last year and a half.
No gifts or cards, please. Anna will have a collection for the Children's Hospital, for those who would like to contribute. We will have an opportunity for people to write birthday messages to Anna while there. For those who would like to send Anna birthday messages, but will be unable to attend, we will provide a way for you to do that (as soon as we figure out the rest of the details).
Consider this an official invitation to anyone who reads this blog. More invitations will be posted in different circles, so you may hear about Anna's celebration more than once.
Thanks!
